Free Google Sketchup 3-D drawing Program

Post  Roger Brown on Tue 23 Aug 2011 - 16:43

Not having any artistic skill can be very troublesome for many Inventors. They look for help and find out quicklythat what they thought was not going to be that complicated ends up being very expensive. Here is a free program called Sketchup from Google that you may find useful. http://sketchup.google.com/ Like any program you have never used there is a learning curve, but it is worth taking the time to learn and it is FREE. Go out and price some 3-D software and I think you will appreciate it even more.

Sketchup is excellent!

I also use another CAD program, Rhino 3D, relatively reasonable at $900. Much tougher to learn, though. Rhino is great for curving asymmetrical shapes, but I'll go to Sketchup if I'm doing architectural type drawings, because it's quicker. Free! Excellent! Put a little time in and you'll get it, it's easier than trying to draw on graph paper.
